Great Eastern Shore of Virginia agriculture advertising piece when potatoes were king on the shore. Letter to Miss Alice Dunton and her mother Nettie Rolley Dunton to take dinner with the Thomas family. Letter dated August 17, 1931 which was 2 months after Alice’s father, Albert Ward Dunton passed away. Albert W. Dunton was a Surfmen in the U. S. Life Saving Service on Smith Island, VA from 1897 to 1910 or so. Letter has damage – hole in center and on edge and creases from folding. Shipped USPS First Class pkg.
