Antique original c. 1900 The Aultman & Taylor Machinery Company, Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio – Standard Threshing Machinery, Engines, Saw Mills, Etc. advertising postal cover envelope. 5 3/4 by 3 3/8 inches. Some soil and browning. Bit of paper residue on the back. Please see photos for condition. Guaranteed old and original.

U.S. 1st Bur. Issue on 1895 Ad Cover for Great Eastern Fertilizer in Rutland, VT

Type III U.S. First Bureau Issue, picturing George Washington, paying the 2 cent first-class rate on an advertising cover for Great Eastern Fertilizer Co. in Rutland, Vermont. The cover, which was mailed to Unity Station, Pennsylvania from Rutland on November 25, 1895, has an advertisement on the front picturing French Emperor Napoleon on a horse and says « I LEAD ». There is a Rutland (?) Vermont transit mark dated November 26th and Unity Station and Verona, Pennsylvania receiving backstamps dated November 27, 1895. There is a tear on the right portion of the stamp not affecting envelope (see scan).

On the back of the envelope – John Deere Plows, Disc Harrows, Corn Planters, Cultivators, Moline Hanover and Thornhill Wagons, Buckeye Buggies and Surreys, Hocking Valley Feed Cutters and Corn Shellers, Geiser Engines and Saw Mills – The Watt Plow Co., Richmond, Virginia farm implements and John Deere logos pictured. Letterhead – The Watt Plow Co., Agricultural Implements of all Kinds, Gasoline Engines, Steam Engines, Saw Mills, Vehicles and Harness. 6 1/2 by 3 5/8 inches. Excellent condition.
