1930s? DEARBORN CHEMICAL Letter / Letterhead ~ Duplicate ~ BLUE SEAL ~AUTHENTIC
Vintage LETTERHEAD from DEARBORN CHEMICAL COMPANY of « CHICAGO, U.S.A. »! ~ Believed to be a VERY RARE item! This is a vintage item, not a reproduction. My father was a mechanic, and this is from his repair shop, where it has been stored for many years. This is 2 pages having the same information, stating « REPORT OF ANALYSIS » near the top, and then the typed-in information has heading « SPECIFICATIONS ON BLUE SEAL BRAND MOTOR OILS – « Series 10″. The paper is beige in color, and measures about 8.5″ by 11 ». This has been stored with both pages folded together, and folded into 3 sections, as shown in photos #5 and 6. Photo #1 shows the inside view of the inner page, and photo #2 shows the outside view of that page. Photo #3 shows the inside view of the outer page, and photo #4 shows that outside view of that page. There is some light staining on the exposed sides (see photos #5 and 6; see also the close-up view of photo #6 as shown in photo #14, where the pen is pointing toward a rust-colored stain — and note that this is the BACK side of the paper). There is a slight bend to the upper right corner (see photo #10). There are no torn areas, and no missing paper. There is no date on the paper, but it was stored with other items printed in the 1920s and 1930s, so I believe this is probably from the 1930s but I do not know for sure. Note that the typewriter was able to type a fraction of « 1/2 » in the COLOR column, so that may be a clue as to age. Includes lists of the company’s domestic and foreign branches, and indicates that there were factories in Chicago and Toronto. Comes to you from a smoke-free environment. Happy to answer any questions and/or provide additional photos upon request. Will be carefully packed for shipping, with cardboard inserted to guard against bending. Ask any questions before buying, as this is SOLD AS IS and there are no returns.
