Rare 1930s Letterpress Printer’s Block U S Poultry Fencing Indiana Steel Muncie

Rare 1930s advertising letterpress printer’s block for U. S. Poultry Fence. Measures approximately 4″ by 5 1/2″ by 7/8″ and weighs approximately 1.25 lbs. U. S. Poultry Fence was a product of the Indiana Steel and Wire Company of Muncie, Indiana. Blocks like this were distributed to local newspapers who would set this block along with a block identifying a local store where this fencing could be purchased. The back has penciled what appears to be « ? ? McLure (?) Hardware. » We located a digital example of this ad as it appeared in the February 12, 1932 edition of The Carroll Record of Tarrytown, Maryland. THIS NEWSPAPER AD IS NOT INCLUDED, WE HAVE INCLUDED THIS IMAGE IN THE PHOTO GALLERY FOR COMPARISON ONLY. Note we have reversed one image of the block so that it can be more easily read. In good condition with some wear and tarnishing.
