Vintage Sioux City Iowa Johnson Hempstead Livestock Stockyards Unsharpened

Set of 5 vintage pencils from Johnson and Hempstead in Sioux City, Iowa, promoting « for the best results, consign to Johnson and Hempstead. » All are silver with black imprint, unsharpened and measure 7.5″ long. Erasers have hardened, otherwise is good shape with clear logos, some nicks. Differences among the 5 are the imprints for « livestock commission company » as some spell out company and some have different fonts and sizes (see photo). ONE IS A FLIP OPEN NOTE BOOK THAT FEATURES « FARMERS UNION LIVE STOCK COMMISSION CO. » OF SIOUX CITY STOCK YARDS. THE OTHER IS A POCKET LEDGER TYPE THAT FEATURES « JOHNSON & TOOHEY » LIVE STOCK COMMISSION CO. OF SIOUX CITY STOCK YARDS. BOTH SHOW WELL AND ARE CLEAN. THE SMALL FLIP OPEN NOTE BOOK HAS A 1932 CALENDAR AND IS UNWRITTEN IN. THE LEDGER TYPE IS ALSO NICE WITH 2 PAGES REMOVED FROM THE FRONT OF THE LEDGER…..THE BALANCE OF THE PAGES ARE UNWRITTEN ON. Set of 6 vintage pencils from Mid-West Livestock Commission in Sioux City, Iowa, promoting cattle, hogs and sheep sales at the Sioux City Stockyards. All are unsharpened and measure 7.5″ long. Erasers have hardened, otherwise is good shape with clear logos. Four are the same with black imprint on a red pencil, one is green with black imprint and one is off-white with black imprint. The green and white pencils also also promote the « house of Bergeson. » Thanks for looking!
