A WONDERFUL BIT OF NOSTALGIA THIS WOODEN EGG CARRIER HOLDS THREE (3) DOZEN FRESH EGGS ADVERTISING THE RIDGECREST FARMS OF WILTON MAINE (ME) FINE DOWN HOME CONSTRUCTION WITH SLATTED SIDES ALLOWS FOR AIR TO FLOW. THE CRATE ALSO HAS A WOODEN GRIP HANDLE ON METAL HINGES. THE INSIDES ARE CARDBOARD SQUARES WHICH HOLD EACH EGG INDIVIDUAL AND KEEP IT FROM CRACKING UP. I AM SURE THERE WAS A PATENT PENDING ON THIS DANDY. A GREAT COUNTRY KITCHEN CURIO WHIMSY. THE BOX MEASURES 9.5″ BY 7.25″ BY 9.5″ FINE OLD PATINA. UNIQUE AGRICULTURAL / AGRICULTURE NOVELTY RARE / UNIQUE / HARD TO FIND CIRCA 1920 – 1930.
